Biography
Best described as a band which mixes 90s skate punk with modern hardcore vibes, Barriers was formed in 2017 by Tom (guitar), Chris (drums), and Gregg (bass) out of the ashes of their previous band. Taking inspiration from bands such as Comeback Kid, Strung Out, AFI and NOFX, they were soon joined by Kian (guitar) and Kris (vocals) to complete the lineup. They began writing material, gigging along the south coast, and in the spring of 2019 they recorded their debut record "Through the Middle".
When COVID hit momentum slowed, and between 2021/22 Kris and Kian each stepped away from the band to pursue other projects. In early 2023 Andy (formerly of Torchbearer) joined on vocals to complete the current lineup.
Now a four piece, the band kicked off 2024 with the semi-final of 'No Sleep Till Hellfest' and released two singles; 'Distant Memory' and 'Sick Sad World' supported by live shows across the South East.
2025 will see the band gigging across the UK with new material coming later in the year.
